The Rockin' Bakken

For those of you who aren't from the MonDak region, the Rockin' Bakken refers to drilling activity going on in the Williston Basin Oilfields. The Bakken Formation is said to hold a large amount of crude oil and we're a nation that loves it's petroleum products.

I'll be posting some pictures from the Rockin' Bakken when available starting tonight. Here's a drilling rig operated by Ensign between Bainville and Culbertson, MT, just north of US Highway 2.

Photo manipulations

I've had some fun with a program called GIMP, which is an open source photo manipulation program similar to Photoshop. Here are some examples of my artistic touches. The sunrise picture was taken by my Dad near Havre, MT and the freight train is a shot I got near Trenton, ND.
